Today is my daughter in law, Crystal's birthday.  I wrote the following poem to express to her just how much she means to me.  She is the daughter I never had. 

The One I ask for

I ask God for a little girl

He said you  need a son

He'll teach you how to laugh & love

He'll make your life such fun!

He'll fill your life with so much love

as he grows into a boy

He'll make your life complete

and fill your world with joy!

And then one day he'll become a man

and your heart will burst with pride

When he brings you home a little girl

to stand forever by his side!

She'll be the one you ask for

I said ask and you shall receive

And now you have your little girl

You had only to believe!

But wait, the fun's not over yet

She'll give you so much more

A boy and a little girl

To love and to adore!

She'll be the one you ask for

The wife of your son

The mother of his children

Your family is now done!
