| Atlanta Business Chronicle September 29, 2003 Re/Max's New Edition Ronald B. DeVoe Jr. is singing a new tune these days. Since last year, he's been selling real estate with Re/Max Westside when he isn't in the studio working on a new album. DeVoe, who started in the music business 20 years ago with the band New Edition, just signed with Bad Boy, the record label owned by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. "The music thing is still working out," said DeVoe, who also was with the band Bell Biv DeVoe, but now is back with four of the original New Edition members. "We're putting the finishing touches on our next album." Selling real estate, however, also appeals to him. "I didn't want to dance around on stage for the rest of my life," DeVoe said. "I was looking for that next thing in my life." DeVoe admitted he does get a double take sometimes from real estate clients who suddenly realize why he looks so familiar. "Right now entertainment is more my focus, because I've been doing it for so many years," he said. "But the transition is starting. The DeVoe team is out there and I'm putting my name out there." |
