| Biographical Sketch | Born in Stockholm, Maine (To Olof Elliot Hede and Hilma Christine Nelson Hede) Donworth Street on the north side, Tower Hill, October 31, 1929 midmorning after waiting for
the doctor to get done hunting. Schooled in Stockholm, Jackson, Bingham, Houlton, Caribou, Orono (BSME in Mechanical Engineering in 1956). Worked as Engineer at Douglas Aircraft, Santa Monica, California. Met Rosemary Spix in Calif. Moved to East Hartford, CT in 1957. Married Rosemary December 28, 1957
in Santa Monica, CA, then we set up housekeeping in East Hartford. Worked at PWA in Experimental Test on various jet engines until 1971. Became store manager and President of Hede Family, Inc. at Madawaska Lake, T16R4 in May of 1971. Have landplane and seaplane pilots license. Flew a Taylorcraft 85 hp plane at Madawaska giving rides to local folks. Sold the business to Jack MacCormack and Family in 1984. Flew the T-Craft solo to Alaska in June/July of that year. Sold the plane in AK. Helped organize the Nordic Lakers Snowmobile Club in early 1970's. Member of Stockholm Historical Society, Trinity Lutheran Church holding various positions over the years. Acted as substitute school teacher at Stockholm Grammar School. Children: Lawrence Elliot Hede, now living in Mexico, married to Graciella Arredondo from San Antonio, TX with their nine children and one grandchild where they are all involved in missionary work. Mary Helen Minie, now living in Lilburn, GA with their two children. Works as a Computer Specialist. Husband, Daniel, is a fork lift truck mechanic. |
