Damn it was cold last night but in spite of that a lot of people came out and made this show really good. We were tighter than ever (probably a result of our recent recording sessions) and full of confidence as we plowed through a mix of old and new tunes, plus a cover of Devo's Freedom of Choice. Sure, we hit a few clams, but nothing that interrupted the flow of the songs. The crowd was way into it and very vocal, although they stayed back ten feet from the stage. Nobody wants to cross that imaginary barrier between band and audience. So we just stood at the very edge of the stage to get closer to them. Plus, the other two bands on the bill-Saint James Stars and Pupster- were like us- loud guitar rock. It seems rare that we are on a bill with bands of similar style, and it makes for a better time for everyone.

We opened with an unrehearsed (ever) version of Jesus by The Velvet Underground for Easter. Played mostly new tunes with a couple oldies thrown in. Thanks to Julian for great sound and Valentino at the door. Click here for pictures and here for a review of the show in NEON magazine.

It took awhile, but Ride The Mole finally found the darkest, dankest club in the city, and it's Siberia. We felt perfectly at home in this basement, just a stone's throw from Port Authority and ripe with character. Chris (Piss) from Lesion booked the show (plus he did sound-thanks Chris!) and he knows all the bands so it was more of a "night" than most shows we play. I can safely say that everyone there had a good time, from the boogying midget to America's Sweetheart's spastic bass player; from the Australian businessmen to the drugged-out dancing honeys. Lesion rocked their shit out hardcore, and Dick Van Dick was a raging wall of sound. We were pretty tight, too. Click here for pictures.

Dear Mom, The band had another show last Friday and it went pretty well. We did a bunch of covers (ELO, Swell Maps and Stiff Little Fingers) as well as some old tunes from our first cassette. People seemed to really dig it, despite a broken string, a broken bass, a broken stick and some lame stage banter. We even got an encore! It was a fun night: our friends Small Axe came down from Saratoga and played a great set of heavy rock, and Chris Thomas' newest power trio Baag played a tight set of punk gems. They even dedicated their cover of 53rd & 3rd to us. The night started right with Mutagenic's funky shred-capades and ended with 9 Point Landing's dose of midwestern rock. OK, Mom, hope you are well.  P.S. Send more medication. Click here for pictures.

This was a fun show. It would have been more fun if anyone had shown up, but you can't have everything now, can you? At least we didn't suck. It was a weird night because the rest of the acts were all comedy, and I'm using that term loosely here, except for one guy with an acoustic guitar who dissed us during his act. Luckily, Amy confronted him after his set and forced him to admit that he was kidding. Ted took center stage for this gig: he was cracking jokes throughout the set, and even made his RTM singing debut on our cover of Hot Cock Annie by The Frogs. No, that's not a typo. We played Hot Cock Annie. See what you missed?
