John and Martha had fourteen children, of which eleven lived to adulthood.
William Daniel Braswell was their thirteenth child.

Dora Lena Rodgers Braswell
Jan. 23, 1894 - Aug. 26, 1984

The story goes, that Will went to work for Lena's Father, Byron Rodgers who was a well known land baron in Collin County, Texas. As luck would have it the young lady tooking a liking to the hired hand and fell in love. They were married on November 27th, 1910. Will also prospered in his life with Lena and owned numerous sections of land in Texas. They had fourteen children during their lives in which twelve lived to adulthood. You will find those children and their spouses listed below.

These photos are of Lena's parents: Byron and Susan Rodgers. Byron is shown mounted on one of his numerous show horses, a Percheron which originates from Le Perche which is about 50 miles South of Paris, France. Knights favored this breed due to it's size.
