The knight in shining armor, seemed to stand above the rest, It wasn't because of his stature, or that he was the very best. The knight in shining armor, seemed to know most everything, From why the sun rose in the east, and why the birds would sing.
The knight in shining armor, had soft eyes of azure blue, And when the princess came to him, she swept his heart away, it's true. The knight in shining armor, watched his little princess grow, And when he looked into her heart, he found love for him, a glow.
The knight in shining armor, possessed a heart of purest gold, His love for the little princess, will be a story often told. The knight in shining armor, lifted her high above the storms, And in the dead of winter, he kept the little princess warm.
The knight in shining armor, never failed to bring her joy, It really didn't bother him that she'd not been a boy. The knight began to worry some, after many years of work and wear, That the armor would one day tarnish, and he'd no longer be needed there.
The knight began to pull away, to let the lovely princess grow, He never knew that in her heart, she still loved him so. To the knight it seemed just over night, he grew stiff and turned so old, And looking out through his helmet, he could, no longer see the gold.
The princess is now a woman, but deep inside, there's a little girl, Who still looks up into the eyes, of the knight who lights her world. It never was the armor's shine, that made her love him so, It was the fact ... he was her Daddy, and his armor will always glow.
