Betty Jo's Ancestors From Her Father's Family

My earliest information indicates that Margaret Henderson came to America from Scotland with her Son, Daniel Henderson, who married Amelia Huggins. Afer arriving in South Carolina Margaret married a Mr. Baker, and by him had one child, Catherine who married James Allen Terry. After Catherine died, James Allen Terry went to Alabama and lived with "Long" Daniel Henderson. As far as is known, Daniel Henderson born 1815 -1832 and Catherine Baker were the only children of Margaret. Catherine Baker Terry died leaving no children, so all of my records pertain to the descendants of Daniel and Amelia Huggins Henderson.

It is believed that Daniel was born in Scotland but Amelia was born in South Carolina. An 1850 census might show Daniel and Amelia along with their first child, Elizabeth, who would've been one year old at the time. This might give Daniel and Amelia's age and place of birth. Margaret might be listed in the household at that time, if she hadn't married Mr. Baker by that time.

Apparently Daniel and Amelia are buried in the Patrick, South Carolina area. Daniel and Amelia had 4 children, their names are as follows: Elizabeth Ann (Jan. 24, 1849), John R. (July 29, 1856), George W. Henderson and Daniel Henderson.

Elizabeth - No record of spouse, but I do show she had 5 children ... Daniel Cornelius (9/9/1869-3/28/1929) married Lou Jeanie Florence Munn 1-3-1889. Jane Henderson married Lonnie Biggs; Jim Henderson married a widow, Ms. Joiner (no children), William Washington (7/10/1881) married Daisy Hutto and the last child was Rebecca or Beth (no further information)

George Washington Henderson and Maria Tyner Henderson, had 10 children as follows:

Mary Bell was the daughter of J. Furman Tart and Georgia Ann Flowers Tart

John was the son, of George Washington Henderson and Maria Tyner Henderson

John and Mary Bell are buried at the Carolina Cemetery, West of Andalusia, Alabama.

John and Mary Bell were married on June 16, 1912 and had 12 children.
