Smackdown battle of the giants

It puzzles me sometimes to think why shane mcmahon bought WCW, the only reason
why I think he did was to set up a direct challenge to his father vince mcmahon,
but while shane sets up WCW in his style, the question has to be asked do
we need 2 codes WWF
and WCW?. Certainly since the alliance was formed between ECW
and WCW, WWF has suffered as a consequence, losing several titles to the
alliance and several top wrestlers too.
Would it be better if the Alliance(WCW and ECW) and WWF were merged together to form one code of wrestling rather than two seperate codes, if wrestlers from both codes worked together would we have better wrestling?, would it better if there was just one title up for grabs?, it is a question that will go unanswered until a peace is declared between vince mcmahon and shane mcmahon, certainly at the moment the power struggle rages on between the alliance and WWF, and we will see what happens when it all comes to a head at the next main event UNFORGIVEN on september 23 2001!, but before all that we have the raging battles between the alliance and WWF at RAW IS WAR and smackdown.
The power struggle couldnt have been more clear when on smackdown this past week when there was big face off between stone cold steve austin and chris jericho. It all came from RAW, when kurt angle turned up and sprayed the alliance with milk, Jericho then challenged stone cold to a title match on smackdown, stone cold said he would take him on but in a non-title match. But just as stone cold was about to take him on commisioner william regal came out onto the ramp and told stone cold steve austin that his match with chris jericho would be a title match. The federation title was on the line!!!
But once again the rattlesnake rose to the challenge in the end and beat chris jericho to retain his federation title, once again stone cold looked immense and will be a stiff opponent for anybody who wants the federation title, but with the re-entry of The Rock(Who will fight for the WCW title against Rhyno on this weeks RAW) and the olympic champion kurt angle, there yet maybe a challlenge to the rattlesnake, the WWF's loss was the Alliance's gain, we will see if the WWF can launch a challenge to win back the federation title.
