Week 1: 6-23-05
We formed our groups. Group decided to build a magnet high school using small communities with an emphasize on science, arts, police law, and business. I went to the Internet and looked up magnet schools to find more information on what are magnet schools and to find examples of magnet high schools.
Week 2: 6-28-05
We brought our information together. We added new members to our group. So we needed to discuss what our plan was to new members. We discussed budgets and discussed our need for a school site. I went back to the Internet and found some information on budgets for high schools and looked at more disciplines of interest. Talked to high school teachers for input.
Week 3: 6-30-05
Looked for school sites and spent three hours driving from Phelan, Victorville and Ore Grand. Took awful pictures. Had a thought, why not use existing school and add our magnet program to it. Made a rough draft to bring back to group. Talked to counselors at school.
Week 4: 7-5-05
Group OK with idea. Tidied up Mission Statement and plan. Give all materials to Erica, she and Sharon are doing the Website.
Week 5: 7-7-05
Get address to school with some history. Type up documentation for individual work.
