| Autobiography Throughout my elementary and secondary education in Lincoln, Nebraska, I enjoyed literature, and the English language. It was not until my senior year in high school, however, that I gave serious consideration to the teaching profession. The highlight of my college career has been the opportunity to be the editor-in-chief of the Peru State Times, Peru State Colleges student newspaper. I was given the opportunity to learn about school politics, work with many new software programs, and head the newspaper staff. This experience helped me to learn the values of patience, courtesy, and teamwork. I possess a Language Arts degree, which gives me great versatility in the classroom. I have been able to incorporate my journalism knowledge into the reading curriculum that I created; the addition of speech has enhanced my student's English 8 experience. My parents, brother, and extended family have all supported me in my choice to become a secondary educator. My mom, aunt, and cousin, who are all teachers, have been especially supportive throughout my education and the beginning of my teaching career. |
