My children's own furry bundle of joy, Goldie Sue, was born on the 1st of January 1994.  For some reason, the silly girl thought I was her "Mommy" and she'd follow me from place to place just like my own kids did.

Goldie wasn't a shelter pet.  We adopted her from a friend of a friend that hadn't thought to have their pets spayed or neutered.  One small part of the excess love in their home was adopted into ours, and we thank Goldie for the contributions that she made to our lives.

Unfortunately, all good things must end at some point.  In July of 2006, Goldie was put down due to health problems.  We own other dogs now, but nothing will ever replace her in our minds and our hearts.  I know that she's happy and healthy, once again, in that big yard in the sky.

This page is dedicated to the memory of our pets that have gone onto the great, big yard in the sky ...

Pets are wonderful!  I've had many of them over the years, and each one of them holds a very special place in my heart.  Studies have shown that owning a pet can reduce your heart-rate, reduce your stress, and improve the quality of your life.  So do yourself and your health a favor -- get a pet!!

You don't have to buy a "pure-breed" to find an awesome pet.  There are many great dogs and cats currently on "death row" at animal shelters across the country.  You can save their life and improve your own, just by adopting a "homeless" pet.  Below is a link to find a homeless pet in Kansas and Missouri.  You can also go to
www.petfinder.com to find a pet near you.
Spencer & Nina are our pet family now.  Spencer is a Pug/Boston Terrier mix -- a Pug's body with a Boston Terrier's colorring -- we call him a "Bug".  Nina is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix -- a Chihuahua's coloring on a Dachshund body, but with a long legs -- we call her a "Chi-Wiennie".

We adopted Spencer from a local shelther at 8 months old, and he was already firmly attached to his name.  Nina was an unplanned addition to our pet family while we were trucking through Tulsa, OK.

Nina was left in a box marked with "Free Puppies" and "Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix" on the sides.  At first we thought the box had simply blown under our truck while it was parked, but we soon discovered a very tiny puppy inside.  After a week of trucking, our vet said that she wasn't more than 4 weeks old and weighed in at a whooping 2.4 pounds -- very tiny!!  Since we couldn't adopt out such a small package, we kept her and she grew on us.

Spencer and Nina are best buddies now, and they love to play together whether they are at home or on the road.  They currently have "Fan Club Members" in 26 States ... you know, the people that say "Ohhhh, how cute!"

Look for more updates on the "ADVENTURES OF SPENCER AND NINA"...
