Hello
and
welcome to my corner
of the world-wide web.
:)

If you are viewing my page, you are a very special person.  I don't have my homepage published with meta-links and all of the other fancy stuff that makes it "searchable".  If you're here, you're here because I invited you here and gave you the address.  So welcome!

Yes, it's true.  I'm a die-hard Chiefs fan.  I'm not the sort of fan that sticks around for the good times, and then high-tails it to the next "good" team when the going gets tough.  That's not to say that I don't appreciate other team's efforts, I also root for the Broncos on occassion, but they're not my team.  My team is 2-12 for the year, and I'm still wearing my Chiefs coat around town.  So .... GO CHIEFS!!

I'm a mother of three and two steps.

My daughter Ashley is a high school senior, as if that's even possible because I don't feel old enough to have an almost college-aged kid running around.  She's an awesome girl, and I'm not just saying that because she's my daughter and my first-born child.  She gets terrific grades, and she was just awarded a really great academic scholarship to the college of her choice..  She pitches in around the house without too much fuss, and she can fill in for me in the kitchen if I have to work late.  I could get used to coming home to a hot-cooked meal -- too bad I'm not a guy!  LOL!

Then I have two sons, a junior and an 8th grader.  They are good kids, and they're involved in Scouts.  Drew is the older one, and he's 5 merit badges and a project away from making Eagle Scout.  I'm rooting for him, and I hope you are too.  Drew is a science nerd (or geek, or maybe both).  He loves sci-fi stuff, and he's always thinking up some overly complicated way to accomplish everyday tasks.

Thomas is the younger one.  If it's got wheels or wings, he's into it.  He loves his RC cars and his bicycle.  He has a part-time job throwing a weekly newspaper in our neighborhood, and he plays viola in his middle school orchestra.  Much to his big brother's chagrin, Thomas is futzing around and teaching himself how to play the guitar.  Poor Drew doesn't have a musical bone in his body, but he keeps trying.

My step-daughters are Morgan and Dakota.  They are both special young ladies, even if they sometimes forget that.  Unfortunately, they live with their mother and we don't get to spend a great deal of time with them.  Morgan is into sports and likes horses.  Dakota is a girlie-girl, and she's hoping to become a cheerleader when she gets into highschool.  Equally unfortunate, is the fact that their mother doesn't push academics as much as I do.  Both girls view school as a sports-club and/or social hang-out rather than as the key to their future.  Hopefully, they'll grow and move on to bigger and better things.

I also have a wonderful husband who doesn't always see himself as wonderful.  He works hard for aliving and doesn't know any other way to go about living life, other than to work hard to provide for his family.  He has opened his heart to my children, and I think they're better off for the example he sets for them.

Despite all the "sunshine" in this opening few paragraphs, life isn't always perfect -- but that's how life goes.  There are days when we fuss at each other, or the chores don't get done, or people go to bed mad.  Some times, there are more of those days than I care to admit.  But, in the end, I know that we're all here for each other.  If push comes to shove, we will stand together and work together to make life better for each other.  That's what a family is about.

As you read through my pages, please don't judge me too harshly.  I'm only human, and I make all the mistakes that us humans tend to make.  These pages are a small reflection of who and what I am.  I have varied interests.  I have a myriad of likes and dislikes.  I'm human, and so are you.

May God watch over you and protect you, always.
