Hi. My name is Neng Her. I am a student at California State University. I am in the credential program. Specifically, I am in the Bilingual Multicultural Education Program or BMED. I am on my way to becoming a teacher. This is my first phase. In fall of 2004 I should be completed with this program since it is only a two semester program. |

There are many reasons as to why I ant to teach; however, Imy passion for teaching began when I was in the third grade. In the third grade I had an excellent teacher that was so passionate and encouraging to all her students. She made them want to learn. She allowed students to be a part of the lessons instead of forcing a specific lesson onto the students to learn. Also, this teacher gave hope to many second-language students like myself who did not have parents that spoke English and could assist them at home. I struggled througout my education because I was the oldest and also my parents did not speak a word of English to help me in my homework. In essence, I want to help students in the same way that this teacher has done for me.
