(imho) here's a good charity to help: the Northeast Independent Living Program, Inc. (NILP, Inc.)

if you can't give money, and you
live/work nearby/in the merrimack valley area of massachusetts usa,
you might consider volunteering at NILP.
also one of the things NILP is looking for
is people who are experienced in financial matters and/or fundraising
to consider serving on the board of directors.
so this, would be a good way to contribute to the agency,
other than financial contributions.
the board generally meets once a month on Wednesday evenings.
so it is not a huge time commitment.

(there are plenty of others that are also worthy of helping as well).
