Today was a rollercoaster ride! I set my alarm last night for 5:30am, and I turned it on. Somehow it either didn't go off or I slept through that annoying beeping sound, because I woke up at 830. My first class on Tuesdays is at 8am. I made it to campus just in time for my 930 class. Fortunately, I received 15/15 on my portfolio in that class. My professor really liked it. My 1100 class was boring as usual, but I survived it! I went to the University Tutorial Services think that I was supposed to tutor someone 2-3... I was wrong. So I stuck around until 3 when I was to be tutored in Spanish. We just chit-chatted for 45 minutes. Since I haven't really been keeping up with my work in Spanish, and since she taught me quite a bit already, I didn't have any questions for her. At 4 Diana, Elia, and I drove to the Bible bookstore in town, then to the Dollar General. After dropping them off at their living quarters I remembered that I had an "Interviewing Skills for Education Majors" presentation that I wanted to go to tonight. So I hung around campus until 8, then headed to the dorm, in which the presentation was scheduled to he held. After the meeting I visited a friend in the dorm, then went to my car to head home. As I pulled out of my parking space I heard a strange sound from my front end. I pulled into our parking garage since it has lights. Lo and behold, I had a bolt in my tire. Although my tire was not flat, I deceided it would probably be safer to put on my spare tire. Now in last week's entry I wrote about helping someone change her tire. This time it was my turn to have tire problems I guess. I think maybe God was preparing me for today. I didn't panic when I had to change my tire alone at 930 at night. If I hadn't helped the girl last week I would have probably been anxious about it. I didn't have any major problems changing the tire. I did notice that there we like 5 people or groups of a few people who got in cars and left the tri-level while I was working on my tire problem, and not one of them offered their help. I went home and called mom to ask her how much I might be spending to fix it. Guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow. In the mail I finally received my Student Teaching Placement for the Spring. It wasn't the school district that they said they would try to get me into. I had been telling everyone where I was suppose dto be going... and I didn't even end up there! I am more anxious now about this other school because I am not really familiar with it at all! I am used to more rural schools, so this school is big for me. But it does come with some advantages... I have more resources there. More teachers of my discipline to learn from and ask question of. Also, since this district gets lots of tax payer $$ they should have plenty of resources for me to use (tech for example). Guess I won't know anything for sure until I actually go there, but I anticipate good resources. Well that was my roller coaster of a day... tune in tomorrow to hear more about the tire saga and anything else that may come up! |
