Tips on Internet Relationships
Try not to obsess during the times you can't talk with your partner.  There's usually a good reason why he/she didn't call or why their email is so short on all the details you wanted to know.  So take a deep breath and take some space to think about where you're at.
Make sure you treat yourself once every couple of weeks or more ... I figure if I were in a face-to-face relationship, my partner would have spoiled me almost rotten so why not do something he/she can't do at the moment and take yourself to that movie, facial, or carshow and have that bubble bath, night in with a video, or an extra piece of chocolate ... I would!
A really good idea once you've set a date is to begin a countdown either set up your own at Internet Romance.org or make your own and put it up on a wall at home.
For those friends who don't approve of your relationship I really don't have any tips to turn them around ... perhaps you could persuade them through meeting your online love or by proving your continuing commitment ... however my best means of attack has always been to try and appreciate any genuine concern they may have but basically if they cant be happy for you now they're not going to be happy for you when you're in one of those magical "real relationships" they keep talking about ...

if they were truly your friend they'd love you no matter who or where your partner came from so dont get too upset about it.  Instead, appreciate those real friends you do have rather than the ones who have to bring you down.
Faith and Positive thinking helps.  My personal faith helps me to know that God is bigger than the distance involved in this relationship.  It gives me some release and a new perspective on things - because if God is for it then who can stand against it!
Do something creative when you miss each other so badly try to put your energies into doing something rather than letting the situation depress you further.  For instance you could take up painting, poetry or perhaps even ... running!
