Ben Affleck scored his first acting job when he was eight years old as a regular on the PBS series The Voyage of the Mimi. Later that year, Ben met Matt Damon- his current best friend and co-screenwriter of Good Will Hunting. Ben and Matt attended classes together at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. Both also appeared as extras in several movies by answering casting calls for any movie filmed in Boston.
Ben's feature film debut was in 1992, when he starred alongside Matt, Brendan Fraser and Chris O'Donnell in
School Ties
In 1994, Castle Rock purchased the rights to his and Matt's Good Will Hunting screenplay. After much conflict, it seemed that GWH would never be made until friend and director  Kevin Smith convinced Miramax to take a look. Obviously pleased with what they saw, Miramax took over production and in 1997, GWH was nominated for several Golden Globes and Academy Awards. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon deservingly won 'Best Screenplay'. It was this incredible honour that made them both house-hold names and ensured successful careers.
Ben, an accomplished actor and screenwriter, has also directed a short film titled
'I Murdered My Lesbian Wife, Hung Her on a Meat Hook and Now I've Got a Three-Picture Deal With Disney'.

Ben Affleck is currently starring alongside former-flame and talented actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, in the romantic drama- Bounce.
