Ripples
The winds and the waves
Play out their days
Through the sand and snow
Ripples on the ground below
Ripples large and small
Left for one and all
Ever moving, ever changing
But always there, everlasting
Throughout our lives
The promisses and the lies
The good and the bad
The happy and the sad
The people we get to know
Move, shrink and grow
Like ripples in sand and snow
They don't always show
Where in life we will be
Or the wonders we will see
But when they can leave
Can shape what we believe
Can touch what we'll share
Can change for who we care
Can build or combust
Shape our love and lust
Change who we'll trust
Build anger, bring regret
Be things we rather forget
Or share our happiness and tears
As we pass throughout the years.
