Create or modify a form

Forms help you collect valuable information from your website visitors. In Website Builder you can create or modify a form easily by choosing Insert > Form in the menu, or clicking in the toolbar.

Add a form to a web page:

  1. Choose Edit mode in the right view.
  2. To create a new form, place the insertion point where you want the form to appear; to modify an existing form, place the insertion point inside the form.
  3. Choose Insert > Form in the menu, or click in the toolbar.
  4. In the Form Name field, type a unique name to identify the form.Form name will not be visible to your website visitors. It is used to help you identify the information you receive when a form is submitted to you.
  5. Click the besides the Action Link, to specify the page or path that will process the form.
You are recommended to choose an internal web page (another page in the website) as the action link so that when your website visitors complete and submit the form, they go to the action page which takes an action (for example, emails you the data). For more information, see Create a Feedback form tutorial.
  6. If you want to receive the form data by your email, check Send to Email and type your email address.

Add text and objects to a form:

A form is made of rows. Each row may have text, or an object, or both of them. In a new form there is already a row with a button.

  1. Click Insert button to add a new row to the form.
  2. Click Delete button to delete the selected row.
  3. Click Edit button to modify an existing row.
  4. Click Up or Down button to reorder the rows.

You can preview the result at any time in Preview window. After you create the form, don't forget to choose server-sider script (ASP or PHP) by Site > Script in the menu. For more information, see Create a Feedback form tutorial.
