The dinosaur hunting game is back.  Turok is on it's fourth sequel and the best one so far is the orginal Turok game.  Turok has been famed for it's outstanding graphics, dino sniping with a bow and arrow and as the only dinosaur hunter in town.  But the series has been more of an elaboration than of gameplay and tailing off from the Nintendo 64, the series probably dropped to its lowest yet with it's crap third version.  But what's on mind now is whether Acclaim has been trapped again or have they unleashed a fragging good game.
A game that contains dinosaurs and guns what you will expect is not a clever episode of events but a rather bloody and messy affair between the hunter and those damn dinosaurs.  And neither is it Evolution.  It is really Turok: Five.
The gameplay is identical from the previous four games.  Now I'm not saying at all that the gameplay is bad but the developers probably didn't even look at the gameplay and see what's wrong with it.  Endless amounts time looking down the sniper rifle and instant death awaits you.  The probable reason is the ignorance of the developers and the fact they set the default off for auto aim.  Yes, bla bla bla, it isn't as realistic with auto aim but when a stampede of gut wrenching dinosaurs head straight over to you it's hard.  It's very hard.  Those who are control freaks will be disappointed.
Graphically, it looks good but from what you can see from Halo which didn't even use
Turok Evolution seems to lose its edge.  In comparison to other games on the Xbox it is not that good either.  May look okay on the PS2 or N64 but really should lose those old days of angles.  What I can say is that it isn't bad and it is nice, clear and crisp.  The environments are big but like all first person shooting games you get use to the follow the path to the end game, even Halo can be like that so don't fret
If you liked Turok and its sequels then this will be familiar enough to you and probably be quick to master it.  It's a new challenge in dinosaur hunting but you can't help notice it's more of the same.  We've seen this in many a sequel of an original but this is the fifth version of the game, and that just takes the biscuit.  But there's nothing like blowing a dinosaur's head off with pints of blood gushing out.
