If you remember, back in 2000 Timesplitters was one of the best PS2 launch titles. Its cartoony look must not be deceived for kiddish game play, this was one mutha of a game and it's back for another go and fragging mayhem. A time splitting sequel is on its way for the PlayStation 2 and it's looking very promising indeed.

TimeSplitters 2 is again made by the crew at Free Radical who were some of the great people behind Goldeneye. The very first level in this game looks very much like the Bond game with a similar ace multiplayer game, but the single player is also looking like one hell of a game as well. Already, there are some amazing missions all nicely muddled in with cartoony cut scenes which unfold the story while you blast your way through this futuristic world. The first three levels are looking stupendous. Take for example, the Dam level where you have to destroy a satellite dish with your mighty rocket launcher, the hitting switches to shut down steam valves. The robot Factory mission and the '30s gangster mission also sound great where you have to escort people through town, destroy illegal consignments and blast gangster cars.

For those of you who love guns, this is a game you want. In the very first level you geet to immaculately destroy guards and enemies using your sniper rifle, a shotgun, grenade launcher and a pistol with a silencer. That's not all, you can fry enemies with your flamethrower or be a fireman and take out flaming zombies with a fire extinguisher. If you don't like to blow up guards, why not blow up a helicopter? Its just as fun!
There is not downside yet but the only one are the graphics. As the PlayStation does not harness the power of the Xbox, the graphics don't seem as smooth but they still look good. Not really a bad point, I'm being picky now! And its coming out this, just around the corner to get your finger on the trigger.

Even the enemy Al have smartened which means you won't find it that easy even when you know what you're doing. There's a huge boss at the end of each level, so get ready for some ass kicking. This time round, the i-link cable will serve as a huge multiplayer mode, pitting yourself against your posse off 31 mates but it means you'll need several TVs and several PlayStation 2's.
