East-west routes are even-numbered
North-south routes are odd-numbered
THREE-DIGIT ROUTES:
First digit even:
Route through or around a city
First digit odd:
Spur into a city
Business Interstates (marked with a green Interstate shield and usually designated as either "Loop" or "Spur"
DC 295 (the only "State" highway to be found in Washington, D.C.)
