Entry for January 17, 2008
Well, we almost got a day off! What is it about snow that makes us all hopeful and childlike? Snow is magical, at times.

We are currently reading " A Long Way from Chicago" by Richard Peck. It is a thoroughly delightful and humorous book about two siblings who visit their eccentric grandma every summer. They learn a great deal about themselves and each other and have fun along the way.

Next week we begin "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry. It is the first of several war novels that we are going to read and study.

Enjoy the weekend and the extra day off...take time to "dream".
