"The radio plays what they want you to here"-Reel Big Fish - Sell Out
But what does "the radio" want you to hear? If you have to ask that question you must not listen to the radio too much, or watch tv for that matter. If you pay any attention to the now cd's which are loaded with r&b and teeny bop crap. However Limp Bizkit was lucky enough to be included on the cd. Why are they included on a cd that is packed full of Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, 98 Degrees, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilara, and many many more cookie cutter groups.
How many teenage-girl pop/dance performers do we need? I personally think that Britney was enough, but they pushed the envelope with Christina, now they shove some Mandy Moore girl who can't even dance, plus she's 15. Then they also give us Jessica Simpson, do we need anymore? No how about finding someone with a different sound, there should be a market for it. Sure all of these girls could also get a job modeling if they wanted to.
How many "boy groups" do we need? All we need is Backstreet Boys, sure N'Sync was fine, when they were with a different lable. Now they are with the Backstreet Boys' lable.
But, a bigger question, how many radio stations do we need to play this music? In Kansas City it is 3, 3 stations that play the exact same stuff!!! Does the city really need that?  First there was Mix 93.3. They played the "top 40" music. Then came Z 95.7, They played the "top 40" music. There was 107.3 and 105.9 who played alternative/rock/local music.
Date: Dec. 30, 1998-Jan. 3, 1999.
107.3 started playing Prince's 1999 repeatedly for 5 days straight.  Something wasn't right.
Date: Jan. 3 Time: approx 12 PM
Flip on the radio to 107.3, what do I hear? Some bunk Disco Crap, or "Classic Funk" HAHAHA! right!
Without warning anyone, 107.3 changed formats to something more "listener friendly" okay that's fine, there could be a market for it. It's definatly different.
Atleast we still had 105.9-the only station in Kansas City that was rated amung the top ten radiostations in the nation that don't suck by Rolling Stone magazine.
Date: Late August 1999
Come home from college, Flip on 105.9, "I'm a genie in a bottle" WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now 105.9 changed formats to yet another "top 40" station. Now Kansas City has no Alt/Rock/Local stations. Isn't it overkill? Why did they change. Because some coorporate big wig thought that they would get more listeners if they changed formats? I don't think so if people can already listen to that sort of thing two other places.
Even the campus station changed formats to "top 40" College stations weren't supposed to have formats, atleast that's what I had alwasy heard.
Turn on MTV, if you are fortunate enough to get a video it will more than likely be a "top 40" video, or just plain rap. MTV was created for rock music originally, now music television barely show's any music. Do we really need to see Global Groove? Sorry that's just not appealing to watch people dance for an hour.
Now on MTV the only real time they play any alt/rock videos is Sunday nights at 11 with 120min. Or you might catch a couple at about 2 am, if you can stay up that late.
I'm even getting tired with rock these days. The only new groups that come along are people who have to scream and yell. Ok we have enough of that type of rock, find something else, find your own sound.
But, for all of you guys out there who want to get rich and famous quick, Not to mention have plenty of prepubescent girls drooling all over you. Gather up 4 of your friends, learn a dorky dance that involves chairs, let someone write a song for you. Viola in no time someone should "discover you." Something has to happen.

What Foo! You think I am joking!? Change that "Weak-Man Music"!! DO IT!!! NOW! SUKKAH!!
