| LOCATION: The White House, circa the Nixon era JOB: The poor fellow who had to convince then-President Richard Nixon that space travel could work to the country's advantage. DESCRIPTION: This is one of the rarest things to ever come within a metre of the site - Mr. T has apparently worked for NASA! During the 60s (or whenever the hell it was Nixon was president, I'm from Britain, how should I know) Nixon wasn't really in favour of funding space expeditions - it was up to Mr. T to sway him to think otherwise. "Don't ask me how he did it," announces NASA-entheusiast Owen Byrne-Hanlon in his book, Don't ask me how the hell Mr. T managed to convince Nixon to continue to fund NASA. "The guy's a genius. Another point of interest is how Mr. T managed to work for NASA at the age of 15 and be trusted to speak to the then-president." As we all know, Mr. T succeeded. Russia was so annoyed they drove the only bicycle they had into a telephone pole, ruining their only mode of transport and delaying their space travel program 10 years. <<<Back to the site. |
