| Super Subjects Language Arts- It has been a busy 2 weeks! We are deep into our genre study. We have discussed Fairytales, folktales, fables, and tall tales, and I think everyone knows the characteristics of each! We even began drafting our stories for our bare books. These stories will be typed presented as a completed book sometime in March. Look for more information on the Author Book Release and Signing Party. Science- Did you know that air has weight? This week we reviewed the Scientific method by observing 3 experiments that taught us the properties of air. Air is very important to the climate and weather on Earth, so it is a good place to begin our Weather Unit. Next week we will look more closely at the factors that impact weather, like air temperature, wind, and air pressure. And a spring springs its wild weather upon us, we will have a first hand look at how weather changes. Math- This week, we finished Chapter 7. Fractions are fun, but it took a lot of practice and hard work to remember how to simplify, find equivalent fractions, change mixed and improper fractions, and find the fraction of a number. Now, we will see hoe fractions and decimals are related as we move into Chapter 8: Decimals. We know that fractions are just division problems, and soon we will see how fractions can be written as decimals. |
| Social Studies- This week we complete our Chapter 6 test in Social Studies. Soon we will be continuing our journey across the regions of the United States. |
