And it's getting younger all the time!! I'm the oldest in my credit union branch surrounded by co-workers who are all young enough to be my kids. We don't communicate on that level, though. Maybe it's because I don't FEEL like I'm that much older. At least not all the time.

Been busy enjoying my life, my home, my friends and family. Live in a nice lake/golf course community North of Shelton - never far from "home". Hope to see lots of my past acquaintances and friends at the reunion. Happy New Year!

Since the 30 yr reunion, I finally retired from the Navy in August 2000 after 31 years(too damn old to have stayed in any longer). My wife, son, and I moved from Hayward, CA and now live in Tigard, OR. I'm working back in the field of Radiology, specializing in CT imaging at Oregon Health and Sciences University. I don't have all the time off I had in the Navy but it is a rewarding field.
Hope to fully retire in 5 years and move to the beach area on the Washington or Oregon coast.
My leisure time is spent on geneaology(have traced both my parents family history back to the 1200s and 1400s), gardening with my wife, and golf(still a duffer).
Our son is 15 and a sophomore and hopes to go into law enforcement after graduation.
And yes, 58 is not as old as it was when we were 18. God, where has the last 40 years gone!!

Only 57 and trying a blog for the first time here to test how this works, thanks go to Randy A. for setting all this up for class of 68.
I Retired in 2005 after 32 years working as an civilian engineer and engineering manager for the Navy in Bremerton. We built a new home on 20 acres on the Wynoochee near Montesano and last fall started renovating the 110 year old farm house on the property that has been in Rita's family since 1930; growing Finn potatoes; and playing with the John Deere. After two years of retirement I also went back to work in November for three days a week with a defense contractor in Bremerton (a long commute, but one guy commutes from Winlock).

Wow - This is one year I don't want to miss. It has been unfortunate that my twin brother and I have never been able to attend a Weatherwax Reunion and this year we will. I will be coming from Colorado, where my husband of nearly 39 years live. I can't wait to see everyone. If it weren't for the "Missel" twins and Terri Neimi, I wouldn't know what some of you were doing. Thank you Guys! Central Park,AJ West,Alexander Young,Hopkins & Miller Jr Highs and Weatherwax - how many other schools could one person go to in Aberdeen? Can't wait to see you all there!

Yes, my twin brother will be there with his wife and my older brother - Well, he will be running the Museum!

WHO AM I? I've stayed on the Harbor all my life. Went to Grays Harbor College after High School. Spent many days skipping classes, and playing Stratego at Swano Lake.( That should narrow it down, for those of you that were there to. ) Worked in many of the mills around here, closing most of them. In 1995 I went back to Grays Harbor College, and earned a 4.0 GPA in Carpentry Technology. Amazing how easy it is to learn when your older. Our class build a two story house in North Aberdeen from the ground up. I can now fix everything in my own house myself, but found out I'm to old to do that kind of work for a living. Now the good part! In June of 2000, I went to Prison. I've been at Stafford Creek Correction Center, on the road to Westport for going on 8 yrs. Looks like I have about 7 more years to go. At the 30 year reunion, I think I danced to most every song. Don't think I can do that now. But one thing is for sure. I'll be there one way or another!!!!

Hello there,
Jerry Sears here. You most likely remember my twin sister, Terrie. Although we never graduated from AHS, we have been honored with an invitation to attend. We will do this. Terrie lives in Colorado, you can catch her blog a few above this one. I live in Portland, Ore. I am a operating room nurse and first assistant, currently finishing a masters in behavorial analysis/doctorate program track II. I spent a tour in Viet Nam with the 25th Infantry divison...same one in the movie "Platoon". I look forward in seeing many of you. It has been a number of years for sure. All the names are familar, but I have seen some pictures of some and can't recognize anyone. Hey Maybe this will be a plus for us all! Ha! Also in attendence will be my older brother Dann. He is the curator of the museum that the reunion is being held in. It is a tragedy that the high school burnt down. What some will do for pleasure. I was fortunate enough to be able to tour it the summer before it was burnt down. What memories. I should have taken some pictures. I was amazed at how small the study hall grew! Terrie and I graduated from David Douglas High School which had 3000 students. What a trip! Quite a change!
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Until then, take care and be careful out there, please.....Jerry Sears signing off.
P.S. e-mail: [email protected] Would like to hear from you all!

After bathing in the dark side of the moon, it became a notion to me that the mainland had entered “Closing Time.” Off on the wings of my dreams I drifted, landing on this distant isle where circling the drain changed into “Life is a Beach.” My days are filled with swimming, reading and writing while walking through the sands of my life during the ebb and flow an island song. Having entered a decade of residing in the arms of a peaceful easy feeling and enjoying the simple way, I’ve realize that I was given a chance to be a part of nature’s way and follow the path that leads to the path I will follow. My intentions are to be there and remind you all what a full moon really looks like.

We’re walking
On the edge of a dream
Searching
“For all that it seems,”
When
The sound of silence
Whispers,
Releasing a truth
Within this quest,
“For all that it seems,
Seems to be
You”

The clock is ticking, folks. If you're going to be a part of the golf tournament, we need your reservation and payment by the end of June. And the same goes for the reunion.

Dad had a heart attack in March, so I've been chief driver for my folks down here in Reno since then. Please visit this site for a fundraiser I support by making quilts to raffle, etc. Sylvia is my granddaughter. http://firstgiving.com/westseattle

I got a call from Koon Woon earlier this evening. I don't think I've talked to him since graduation, but went through grade school with him.

He hasn't been to any of the reunions, and is planning on coming to this one. He's in Seattle these days writing poetry with one book published and working on another one.

Let us know what you thought of the reunion. I had a number of people tell me that the museum was a great choice. And I didn't hear any complaints about the food. In fact, I didn't hear any complaints about anything.

For those of you who took pictures, please send me some of the better ones. Over the next 2-3 weeks, I'm going to redo the Web page and post pictures of the event and possibly some streaming video. My address is [email protected].

I had some requests to make e-mail addresses available. There are privacy issues here, but I'm thinking about it.

Just wanted to thank all of you involved in organizing the reunion. Excellent Job! Let's do it again in 5 years.

For such a large class, I think we all shared a bond due to the timeframe and the geographical area within which we grew up. I certainly wouldn't have changed a thing.

To all of you that I spoke with, whether briefly or in extended conversation, and shared past memories while catching up on current affairs, it was truly a pleasure.

I’m looking forward to doing this again, and to those of you who weren’t able to be there, I’ll be doing my best to persuade you to join us next time.
