| Spelling List We are beginning with words the students should already know. The misspelling of these first few weeks' words will count against them greatly if misspelled on the TAKS Writing test. We are beginning with pre-primer words. These words should have been learned in kindergarten. As part of the spelling contract, give your child a test and have them practice words they got wrong. Make sure if a word should be capitalized, like the word I, they practice capitalizing it in their spelling contract.
