Letters to Parents
Dear Parents and Students,

I can't believe we have been in school almost a full six weeks.  Time is flying by so very quickly!  We have so much to learn and so little time.  Please make sure your children are at school each and every day!  That way they will not miss a thing.
We have a student teacher, Mr. Morris, in our room the first part of this semester.  He has been teaching some lessons and I observe him and give him pointers as his mentor teacher.  This next week Mr. Morris is in charge of the full day.  He is doing an excellent job and the children are enjoying his teaching style very much.  So if you hear them talking about Mr. Morris, you know who he is.  Stop by to meet him if you have the chance.  After teaching fourth grade this week, Mr. Morris, will be going to first grade to finish his student teaching.
Homework this past week was much better!  Almost everyone turned in their math homework and I only had one student not turn in their spelling contract.  Excellent work, parents!  Please make sure your children are reading EVERY night.  There is nothing better I can do in the classroom to make sure your children's reading improves than insisting they read each night.  As the old saying goes, "Practice makes perfect" and it is so true!  Your child will not become a better reader if he/she doesnt practice at home.
Parent and teacher contact is very important to me.  Please make sure I have a phone number where I can get in touch with you at any time.  I also would like your email address if you have one.  If I call home, PLEASE return my phone call.  Without your help, I can't be successful!
Parent conference day is quickly approaching.  I am going to send home a letter asking you to pick a time for our conference.  I will send this home as soon as I know what times we have available that day for conferences.  If I send home a time that is impossible for you, please let me know. If that date is impossible for you, please let me know.  It is very important that I meet with each of you to discuss your child's educational needs.  We can meet at alternate times if necessary.  When you get the letter, please choose a time and send it back to school so I can set up my appointments for that day and reschedule any conflicts.
As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please email me at [email protected] or call the school for a conference (when school begins).  My conference time is 2:10 - 2:50 or after school at 3:30.

Sincerely,

Ms. Teeters
