| Throughout the year, each student will obtain a different classroom job each week. Some jobs are big and some are small. All jobs are EQUALLY important to keep our classroom working!. |
| Courier: Serves as the teacher's messenger to deliver items to the office and other classrooms. . Homework Helper: Collects homework from the students and places it in numerical order. Turns in list of students numbers who did not turn in homework to manager. Keeps record of missing homework. Zoologist: Feeds animals every morning. Notifies secretary when we need to purchase fish food. Notifies teacher when habitats needs cleaning. Assists teaching in cleaning habitats as needed. Janitor: Reminds students of messy areas....after two reminders custodian may issue a fine. Erases the board at the teacher's request. Interior Decorator: Turns on all lights, lave lamps, etc. in the room and turns them off every afternoon. Helps hang any work in the hall. Helps custodian keep room nice. Horticulturist: Takes care of classroom plants. Librarian: Returns books to the library; straightens classroom library. Checks library log to see who has overdue books and notifies student. Keeps record of checked out books. Lunch Monitor: Responsible for reporting "What's for Lunch" every morning on the board. Manager: Rotates job chart every Friday afternoon. Helps teacher with conduct routine. Keeps list of who misses recess and for how long. Paper Passer: Passes out papers to students. Hall Monitor: Serves as line leader and releases quiet students to line up. Watches for the best student during transition times. Awards best student with a good ticket. Nicely reminds students of proper hall behavior with a whisper. Secretary: Records any information for the teacher, files important papers. Writes notes or letters to ill students or staff members. Substitute: Fills in for any absent students. Shows substitute teacher where they can find supplies and lesson plans. Informs new students of expectations. Technician: Keeps the computer area clean. Responsible for turning on computers at the start of our day and shutting down computers at the end of the day. Assists teacher with any technological equipment. Assists teacher with website release forms for class and school. Works with teacher on update of website. Weather Reporter: Reports the temperature and weather for the day. Classroom Equpiment Manager: Hooks up overhead projector as needed. Recess Equipment Manager: Takes out recess equipment and teacher's chair. Time Keeper: Helps teacher keep track of when it is time to transition. Is in control of timer. Jobs are only given to children who act responsible. |
