| Rules For A Happy Room |
| Classroom discipline problems can become a roadblock to effective teaching and learning. Discipline problems must be kept to a minimum to ensure the proper learning environment that every child deserves. Therefore, I will be instituting the following discipline plan: |
| Classroom Rules 1. Listen Carefully 2. Follow Directions 3. Work Quietly 4. Respect Others 5. Respect School and Personal Property |

| Individual Rewards Used For Good Behavior 1. Praise 2. Stickers 3. Special Privileges such as extra computer time and homework passes 4. Teasure Box Friday - |
| Each student will be able to earn one sticker each day to place on a weekly behavior chart. If a student has 4 or 5 stickers on the chart by Friday, they will be treated to the treasure box. |
| Whole Group Rewards Used For Good Behavior |
| A marble will be placed in the marble jar when the whole class is complimented on good behavior in the halls, cafeteria, playground, and in the classroom. The class will be treated to a party when 50 marbles are earned. |
| Consequences For Negative Behavior |
| Verbal Warning Student is asked to turn a card on the behavior chart and will not receive a sticker towards treasure box Friday Student is asked to turn a card on the behavior chart and will lose 5 minutes of recess A note will be sent home to parents |
| Homework |
|
| Homework will be given every day except for Fridays. Homework will consist of assignments that will build and stregthen skills and concepts presented in the classroom. A notice will be sent home to let you know when homework will begin. |

| Homework Folders |
| Homework folders will be sent home each night (Monday-Thursday) and collected in school the following morning. The homework folder will contain a homework record sheet which will list the homework assignments for your son/daughter. |

| The homework record sheet also contains two sections that require attention of parents/guardians: 1. A signature section to show you have seen the completed homework 2. A time spent section to record how long was spent on the assignment |
| Friday Folders |
| Friday Folders will contain your childs work from the week, important notices, and an overview of the upcoming weeks curriculum. It will also contain a section where you can write any comments or concerns. |
