Announcements over the Public Address System (PA)
- No matter what is going on in class, it must be quiet for these announcements.
- Even if the announcements do not pertain directly to you, please be quiet.
Hall PassesMy Desk & Computer
- Every student has 2 emergency hall passes per six weeks.
- Hall passes are to be used in the case of a true emergency only.
- Passes do not transfer over to new semesters and cannot be sold, or transferred between students.
- If you fail to return your hall pass sheet to the notebook and lose it, NO additional hall pass sheet will ever be issued! One hall pass sheet per year per student.
- Off limits to you unless I directly give you permission.
- I do not like a crowd of people around my desk. I particularly do not like students standing in my view of the class. One or two people at my desk is fine, but no more than that.
Getting Around in the Classroom
- You do not need to ask permission to throw something in the garbage, to get a tissue or to sharpen your pencil. Just use your common sense as to when you do these activities (i.e. not during class discussions, teacher presentations, or group presentations).
Signal for Getting Your Attention
- During group activities when I need to get your attention, I will raise my hand. Your response should be to raise your hand, stop talking and listen.
- Your signal for getting my attention and permission to talk is to raise your hand and wait to be called on.
A Web Page for this Class http://www.geocities.com/mrsrosasbiologytalk/
- I have designed a web page that allows students (and parents) to have access to information pertaining to our class, even when we are not in session together!
- The page has science links for students to visit (we will visit many of them during the course of the year).
All school rules, as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct, will be enforced.
- Electronic devices (cell phones, ipods) will be confiscated and turned into the office.
- Be in dress code before entering the classroom, as violations will be written up without a reminder.
