| How Reject Ranch got it's name..... |

Well, it all started several years ago, when we first rented the land that we now own. We had a few horses and were given another one. He was a very well bred quarterhorse but had an infection when he was really young that seemed to stunt his growth. I think he was our first "Reject". Our little cowboy is on the runt side, too. Sure don't look his age. It was a common sight to see him in the yard riding the pygmy goat, Gertrude... She was a goat but she didn't know it. She was a beloved pet and friend to our boy. Yet, she was a Reject, too. Someone gave Billy a wild mustang. And I mean wild! They only told him that they had to get rid of it...they offered the use of their trailer to transport him...but while Billy was "thinking" about it, they delivered that horse! He was a beauty, with wild dark hair. We figured he had been through Hell, so only kept him in the small lot alone, so he could get used to us. The very next day, we were hit by a #4 tornado. All the animals were ok, but frightened. We lost our house, but we were very blessed. But this is how the horse got called Twister. We had him a few months and all seemed well. He seemed to be starting to trust us some. Then one day he charged Billy at feeding time...If you know Billy, you know that horse went straight to the sale... He always says there are too many good horses out there to put up with the crazy ones. We tend to be extra careful, too, with the kiddies around. Today we have 4 horses out there. One is not ours. |
