My Paternal Ancestors
My Grandparents were Sarah Agnes Villar and Robert Ray Henry Sr.  They lived in Ascension Parish Louisiana and were members of .......... where they are both buried.

Robert Ray Henry was the son of L. J. (Leonce Joseph) Henry and Mary Bennett.  Mary was first married to Felix Henry, brother to L. J.  Felix and Mary had a daughter named Ruth.  After Felix Henry's death, Mary Bennett married Leonce Joseph "TUK" Henry.  She had a daughter, Ruth, by Felix.  Mary and Tuk had 6 children. Mary Bennett's father was Dupry Bennett and her mother was "Nancy" (Woods)who had very long red hair, worn in a long braid wrapped around her head.  Mary Bennett was named for her father's sister Mary, who married Raby Kinchen(who had a son Dupry Raby Kinchen, named after Dupry Bennett).

Tuk and Mary lived in Prairieville under 2 oak trees behind Broussard's near Local 102, north of Airline Highway, Prairieville.  Around 1932 they moved behind St. John's Church, then later moved to the corner of Old Jefferson and Henry Road.  He was a state highway worker, then, and farmer.
L. J.'s parents were
John Joseph Henry and Delia Blunt

John Joseph Henry was known as "Josie".  He was known as a serious hunter,  but never hunted on Sunday, or outlawed, except for shooting the occasional gro-bek.  Remembered by Mrs. Mary and Mrs Clara Henry as having brown eyes.  He married Delia Blunt on April 9, 1891.  He would butcher a calf once a week and sell the meat from a wagon.  He lived on the land now owned by Wilson Henry.

John Joseph was the son of Theodule Henry and Telcide Duplessis. Theodule's Civil War record showss he was a private, CO. K, in Ogden's La. Cavalry.  Listed as "prisoner of war" and paroled at Gainsville, Alabama on May 12, 1865.  He was wounded and "nursed" by Telcide Duplessis, (sister of Antoinne Duplessis), whom he married.  He was listed as one of the early settlers of Prairieville.  "Todile" was remembered as blue eyed and had a long white beard.  He lived on property near Airline Highway, farmed land around "BABE BROUSSARD's" place.
Now, it looks like Theodule was an Acadian decendant by his mother and his father.  I am still gathering details and dates and verification, but I know that his mother was Artemise Daigle.  Here is the line of Daigles backwards...
Francois Joseph
Daigle and Brigita Courtin
Francois A. Daigle and Rose Adelaide Bourg..
Francois
Daigle and Jeanne Holley (Aulay)  Hollez.  The Bourg line is also Acadian...
Abraham who married Anne Marie
Boudroux..
Bernard
Daigle married to Marie Bourg.

As far the Henry line, I believe that the father of our Theodule is Theodule Henry, son of Bartholome Henry and Jeanne Bourg...yep, another Bourg.  And Bart's parents were Bartholome and Ann Bourg.  They sure loved the Bourg women, huh?
Pierre
Henry and Marie Aucoin
Martin
Henry and Marie Hebert
Robert
Henry and Marie Madeliene Gaudet.

When the Acadians were first exiled from their home, several of these people died at sea.  Most, it seems were sent to France,  and then found their way to Louisiana abourd the "seven ships"
I am gathering this information now and will post it as it comes.  It really is a fascinating story to read.
