NOUNS

A noun is the name of a person, place or thing.  Underline the nouns in the following sentences.  The number in parentheses tells how many nouns should be underlined in each sentence.


It was a beautiful day for a hike.  (2)

The group walked five miles to the forge.  (3)

At the fair were exhibits from all the countries in the world.  (4)

Mr. Smith published a story in "The New York Times."  (3)

Teachers:  If you see any errors, please e-mail me so I can correct them for the next person.  For a little extra pizazz, have the students hilight the nouns.  Then before grading, use a hole punch and punch out the correct answers.  Place this sheet over the student's and using a contrasting color (green, purple and orange work great) mark through any answer that is not showing through the hole!
