John's Pigeons
This is the begining of a new photo page.  Many more will be added and changed in the coming weeks!

I have been raising racing pigeons all my life.  These represent my experience and passion.
Pheasant family
These are not pigeons either.  These are some of the pheasants we have been breeding.  This year we will breed nearly 100 of these beauties!
No, this is not a pigeon, it is one of the doves we are raising.  This one is very gentle and was in the house for a while last winter.  We have white doves and ring neck doves
Pheasant Roosters
Here are several generations of the best of this loft.  The silver has bred many champions for me.  They enjoy sitting out in the sun even in the winter.
A beautiful Ringneck and a crossbred, both males.  These are part of the breeding stock, hatched last summer.  Unfortunately the crossbred escaped earlier, so we will be starting over with his mother!
Howdy Neighbor!
remodeling with lights
Six pairs may nest in this section of the breeding loft.  Here are two birds staking their claims in the new quarters.
I use full spectrum lights in here to simulate sunlight.  I keep the lights on at least 12 hours daily, longer than the sparce day in Alaska.  This encourages early breeding.
Making a living
The Little Silver is a champion sent out to race in New York.  She didn't do so well in her first race, but she found her wings and went on to win the next five races!  This is her handler at his loft in New York.
Six pairs of pigeons will make their nests in this apartment.  Some of these already have eggs.  The bottom hen here is a daughter of the champion breeder the Silver.
