Max Elevation: 1,186 ft
Max Ascending Grade: 22.5%
Max Descending Grade: 28.9%
Max Descending Speed: 37.7 mph

Of those who showed up for the ECT easy and intermediate rides on a cloudy July morning, 3 chose to tackle the challenging ride up Council Crest and out along Skyline Blvd around Forest Park while the others rode MAX up to the zoo and then bicycled up to Skyline from there.

The web site for Council Crest states that it "is thought to be the highest point in Portland at 1,073 feet above sea level". As we rode along Skyline Blvd we went as high as 1,186 ft above sea level but it was imposible to determine if we were actually in Portland at the time. Skyline in large part is the boundary between Portland and Beaverton but there are sections where the city line deviates from the road so I guess the assertion that Council Crest is the highest point in Portland will have to remain an assertion for now.

These are the images from those who conquered Council Crest.
