          Now that you have your author assignments, it is time to know what your research will entail and how you will proceed to accomplish this quarter project.

 

          There will be two facets to this assignment. The first facet is an essay which will be written using the requirements listed below. The second facet will be a Photostory which will entail using the information from your written essay to create a Photostory video which will be shown to your classmates.  You will have very little classroom time to accomplish this task. Therefore, you will need to find time in your schedule to work on this project.

 

ESSAY ASSIGNMENT: Your essay will be TWO paragraphs in length. It will be set up and written a bit differently than your previous essays for you will not be writing only about a piece of literature. Pay close attention to the instructions given for the format of each paragraph in the essay.

 

          TWO PARAGRAPHS:  Be sure that each of these paragraphs begins with a well-stated topic sentence which gives direction to the information you will include in the specific paragraph. Be sure to conclude each of these paragraphs with a conclusive or summary sentence.

 

                   BODY PARAGRAPH #1 should include: 

                   Biographical information on your author such as birth & death dates, family background,

                             parentage, history of literary successes.

 

                   BODY PARAGRAPH # 2 should include:

                   -a SHORT summary of the short story you read by your author,a statement of the main

                   -a one sentence statement of the theme of the story

                   -a one sentence statement of how your author’s life influenced the story you read

EACH ITEM MUST BE LABELED. SEE SAMPLE ESSAY.

          PHOTOSTORY VIDEO

 

                    1. Create yuour Photostory as you did for your personal story.

                   2. A picture of your author must be included in your

                             Photostory.

                   3. Time length of Photostory will vary. Your photostory needs to include all of the major criteria listed for the essay.

                   4. This part of the project is worth 150 points.

 

Due Dates:         Essay—Friday.12 December in class by all

                             Photostory---Wednesday, 17 December by all
