Read Langston Hughes’ poem ‘A Dream Deferred’ found in the front of your book.

 

ASSIGNMENT:        Write your own poem, song or short story about dreams.

                                                (If you choose to write a poem, it does not have to rhyme.)

 

REQUIREMENTS: 1. The writing must be word processed, with a correct heading.

                                    2. The writing must be written in third person, present tense.

                                    3. Do not use contractions.

                                    4. Use one participial phrase in your writing & underline the phrase                                                    

                                                            in red.

                                    5. Use a gerund as the subject of a sentence in your writing. Circle the                                                 

                                                            gerund in red.

                                    6. Illustrate your writing on the paper provided.
