| The Light that Loved Her | |||||
| Emerald sparkles across the sky, Like a thousand angels singing on high. As the breath of God, wind from the seas, Circle about the earth with ease. The light that loved her so has broken, And all the hosts of heaven have spoken. For there she sits alone in her darkened wrong, The night which has held her for so very long. Embraced by the one thing she vowed never would, For once upon a time, she had been good. But now the strength that once shimmered in her eye, Flickered dim, until it did finally die. So, bitterly alone she wept, Remembering the time when the rage inside had slept. The gentle face above her, she did not see, The tear-filled eyes that would set her free. "Get up my child, for I am here. When you're in my arms, you have nothing to fear. Rise up little lamb, take my hand, For you're going with me to the promised land." |
