Today was the day Dow Gardens made scarecrows for the Children's Garden. Billy went to help this morning. You can can click here to see the pictures . He was really excited and proud of his scarecrow.

Free fishing weekend in Michigan. Billy caught his first fish. We camped at Black Creek (which we were less than impressed with and probably will not go back to again). Sanford Lake (I didn't take any pictures there) is a really nice place for families and kids though.

On the way home Billy fell asleep and we decided to explore a little bit. We wound up in Sanford (which is where he woke up). They have a really nice depot with some Chessies that you can explore. The kids loved this!
We also found a nice park and a small primitive campground that we plan to visit this coming weekend. It is the free fishing weekend and the boys are eager to fish--all three of them.

Today was cooler outside (60-ish or so) but we packed a lot of fun into our Sunday. We started out with a trip to the Saginaw Children's Zoo. Even though it is really not much of a "zoo" (some alligators, butterflies, monkeys, cows, pigs, donkeys....) the kids really enjoy it. It has a hand carved carousel, a small train ride and pony rides. We bought the year pass so we can go as often as we like and ride all of the rides at no charge. We went last month (you can see those pictures at this site ) and plan to go often.
