Grammar- Capitalization

Key idea- Capitalization is to write or print in capital letters or with an initial capital in order to clarify meaning of written matter.

 

Key idea- God is concerned that communication be clear and easily understood.  Biblical principle: 1 Corinthians 14:33-40, 33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace…40Let all things be done decently and in order.

 

Key idea- Being able to recognize and use correct grammar is beneficial not only at school but in the workplace as it improves your ability to communicate with others.

Your Study Guidelines

 

 
 


Just as you would use a map to guide you to a destination, use these sentences to guide you in your study of this unit.

 

 

1.       Locate, read and highlight the twelve capitalization rules.  Then, number them 1 – 12. (capitalization worksheets)

 

2.     Identify words in sentences that should be capitalized. (capitalization worksheets)

 

3.     Write 1 sentence to go with each capitalization rule and put the number of the rule after the sentence. (Example- We drove west when we went on vacation.  Rule #1)
