Building the Tsukuda Hobby Kaitou Saint Tail PVC figure kit, Page 2

Continuing...

The ribbon on the silk hat gets some Royal Fuschia

Royal Fuschia is applied to the skirt, and hopefully looks somewhat like it should in comparison to loads of other color illustrations of her skirt

The arms are attached, and the skirt to the upper body as well

The legs get special treatment. Her left leg is filled with fine white playbox sand, then sealed in with 2 layers of filler putty. When that set, it was superglued in place, and more putty applied to hide seams between the 2 parts.

The sand adds stability to the kit, as you can see here. At this point, there is no rod or wire running up the right leg from the base and through the top of the legs. It is freely standing on its own, thanks in part to some internal balancing the kit is designed with.

The Stick St. Tail holds was a preformed piece, but it bent the wrong way. The little shiny strip is a piece of 2 liter pop bottle plastic, a trick I used with a bent Devil Hunter Yohko sword, and a tip I remembered from an issue of Antic magazine for Atari computers. ^_^ It will be used to keep it in a more straight fashion.

The stick was easy to finish, and Ruby's eyes were completed quickly as well. The completed kit features a clear coat and Ruby and St. Tail's stick are not superglued in place.

Closeup detail of the face. gomen! I will try to get a better overall picture of the kit up soon.

Ruby won't fall out due to the base she sits on not being that easy to dump out of the silk hat

Detail of the stick. ^_^
