Anime North 2004!
Time flows and such as it does, it let me attend the 8th in a row Anime North once again. From events that have taken place in the past year, I had absolutely no idea if I would be able to or not. It's a very long story and still continues, so I won't bore you with it unless you want me to. I needed this break from it all.
I ended up doing 5 panels this year, which meant that I didn't have time to hang around the Toronto Congress Centre, which is where most of the best parts of the convention were held. We had booked rooms at the Park Plaza, then the con staff yanked the events that would have been there over to the Renaissance across the street. Mind you, the Park Plaza had lower room rates which is why it was selected in the first place. In the end it was a lot of walking, which is exercise I can always use. :p
All that walking and less time where most of the good stuff would be meant less time for shooting video. I did take 2 rolls of film this year, so that kinda compensated.
I'll offer my thanks right now to all who attended these 5 panels, 2 of which I did by myself: When Bad Things Happen to Good Anime, Ranma Reverie, Collecting Anime Goods (many thanks to Applejack for sitting in on this one with me - the other scheduled panelist never showed up!), Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, and on Sunday one I asked for - Japanese Cooking. I'd like to do that one again and this time with actual demonstration!!!!
tonikaku, some snappies... I spent a few hours on them and have crafted these master pay-sas!! ^.^
![]() Not sure of the anime where this girl gets her costume, but hey, it got my attention. (warau!) |
![]() I never pass up the opportunity to get video of an attractive woman in a beautiful blue cheongsam, or any other color china dress for that matter. My only regret is not thinking I had any chance of asking her to dinner or something. Definitely someone I want to be seen with. ^_^ |
![]() Finally at last!! I have my own video of a catgirl!!! I knew they existed!! Only problem is getting them to come home with me. T.T |
![]() OK, I know she's from Search for the Full Moon anime, but hey, bunny ears are not to be ignored. ^_^ I have seen the first episode, and I hope to see more. |
![]() Magical Princess Holly Up! And Liiya ja nai no? Very nice costume!! |
![]() Nurse Angel Ririka!! I prefer this girl over the one guy who did Ririka a few years ago. kawaii desu ne!! If only I had friends like these... T.T Watching anime would be fun, but watching friends cosplay some of my favorite anime characters is more fun. |
![]() And finally the last of the composite snappies, but this is one I really wanted for my page. This Chii-chan is the cutest girl I have ever seen do this costume, and from my point of view, embodies almost all the qualities of the actual Chii-chan character that makes it work. If I had never seen any other Chii cosplayer, I might think this girl was the real Chii. sugoi nyo!! She gets my award for the best cosplayer this year, and this year is her first time at Anime North! If there's any way to find out more about her, I'd love to know... (cough - [email protected] - ^_-) |
![]() While not a snappy, I had to include this young lady in her Mizuno Ami costume based on the design from the live action Sailor Moon series. (arigatou nyo, peri-san!) |
