Expectations Continued....
Grades
Parents and students can always check progress by using this site as well. I will try to update grades every two weeks. Grades are determined by the number of points a student earned through the quarter (based on homework, CR's, quizzes & tests, journals and classwork,) divided by the
number of points they had the chance to earn. Grades will also be posted every two weeks by student number in class.
Doing well in Math...
Requires a positive attitude, good effort and work. If you do work hard, do well on tests and quizzes, CR's, class activities and journal entries, you should do well in math class. You can help yourself by keeping your binder organized, and setting a time for you to do homework. Realize that there are consequences for all that you do. Stay focused, and do not be afraid to ask for help.  (Rembering to writing your assignments down in your assignment  notebook is key as well.)
Your Parents Can Help You By.....
Praise and Support through the year. Assisting you when they can with your homework, providing a quiet place for homework to be done, provide the necessary materials for you to do homework/projects with, and contacting me with any problems or concerns.
I Will Help You By...
Being prepared every day to teach you the best that I can. Also by making myself available Mon, Tue, Thurs- sometimes Wed. (there are no late busses.) after school. With advanced notice, I will come in early to help a student, as well as every day during my lunch (please let me know that you will be there for lunch- unless you are assigned to come to me for any other reason.) You can also email me questions. I will also provide you with a safe and positive learning environment that we will consider to be OUR learning environment, as we are a community of learners.
GOOD LUCK!!
