Hooray for random hot chicks I see on MTV so I run out and buy their debut album only knowing one song. Sounds like a burn waiting to happen yes, but I was pleasantly surprised by Bedingfield. I mean this album is no great shakes, in fact half of these songs I could care less about, but there are some gems in the overproduced landscape here. Plus she�s hot. What more do you want out of the diva of the moment.(Ed: After actually listening to this while reviewing, I changed my opinion greatly as you shall see. My time could be much better spent... plus I'm a bit cranky. She's still hot though)
�These Words� is the song that caused me to go get this album. It is insanely catchy, I mean freaking fantastically catchy. The song is layered in production but I can�t imagine the tune without all the doo dads. The video is really cute too. Really just hear this song. �Single� sucks. �Unwritten� isn�t nearly as good as the lead off, but still kind of hooky although really dumb lyric wise. �Silent Movie� is more like it, with a nice chorus and cool production. �Stumble� is a ballad and is also nice, if only because of the chorus that will get stuck in your head for days. �Peace of Me� is uh nice I guess, I just listened to it and can�t recall it, which isn�t a good sign for a POP ALBUM. �If You�re Gonna� is absolute crap. The lyrics are horrendous, I mean never ever say �chiwawa� in a song. Man what a bad song. �Drop Me in the Middle� is not much better as it has female hip hop artist �guesting� or something. It�s just lame white people hip hop pop.
Ok I�m tired of doing this so here we go with one word descriptions: �We�re All Mad�-exorbitant! �I Bruise Easily�-substantial! �The One that Got Away�-stupefying! �Size Matters�-heterosexual! �Wild Horses w/ lame bonus track�- Pikachu!
Final Comment: Don�t do drugs. Or waste money on this album. In fact its not really an album, just three average songs. Illegally download �These Words,� �Silent Movie,� and �Stumble� and use the 10 dollars to save a child in Africa. Or to snort cocaine like Kate Moss, whatever.
