Having a birthday is very special. Each child in the class gets to celebrate their birthday during the school year. If they are a summer birthday, we will celebrate their 1/2 birthday. Parents are invited to celebrate their child's birthday at school by bringing a special treat such as cupcakes, and also by reading their child's favorite book to the class. If a parent cannot attend, another relative may come or the teacher will be glad to read the book as well.
