Leaves have 7 or sometimes 5 broad, stalkless leaflets.
             
 
Flowers open in May in clusters which can be up to 15cm across.
     
             
     
 
             
   
Fruit ripen from green to red in September and are eaten by birds
 
             
                     
 
     
Rowan  or Mountain Ash
Sorbus Aucuparia
  1. Native to Europe, including Britain, North Africa and Asia Minor.
  2. Grown in towns and parks.
  3. Grows to about 15metres tall
  4. Flowers open in May in clusters which can be up to 15cm across.
  5. Fruit ripen from green to red in September and are eaten by birds.
  6. Leaves have 9 to 15 leaflets.
