Use
each spelling word in a sentence

No sentences that begin with the same word.

All sentences must have at least 6

Find
each of your spelling words in a wordsearch puzzle or crossword puzzle

ACTIVITIES
- Write
your spelling words 3x each in ABC Order in (cursive
print cursive)
- Write
your spelling words 3x each in colored pencil in cursive. Write each
consonant letter in red and each vowel in blue.
- Do
pyramids for all the words.
- Write
your spelling words as fractions, based on the number of vowels and
consonants in each word.

- Write
each word in numbers using the letters on a telephone keypad. (Make sure you write the word next to
it.)
- Write
your words with all the letters scrambled. Then write the answers on the
back of paper.
- Create
a secret code by assigning a number to each letter of the alphabet. Write
your spelling words in code. Write the answers on the back.

ACTIVITIES
- Write
each spelling word five times each in ABC order.
- Do
Tri-Squares for each word. (2 pyramids for each word)
- Write
each spelling word in sunbeam (or jellyfish) format. (There must be 4 legs
or beams)
- Write
each spelling word in a rainbow of colors. First, write the words with a
red colored pencil. Trace over the words with a blue colored pencil.
Finally, trace the words again with a green colored pencil. You must use
at least 5 different colors.
- Write
your words 3x each with the hand you do not usually write with. (For
example, if you are right-handed, write your words with your left hand.)
- Spell
your words in Braille or Morse code. (You may need to look this up
somewhere.)

ACTIVITIES
- Use
your spelling words to write a short story. Your story must include all
your spelling words and it must make sense. Do not just end the
story because you have used all your words. It must have a beginning, middle, and
end.
- Cut
out large letters from headlines or ads in newspapers or magazines. Use
the letters to spell your words. Paste the letters on a large sheet of
paper.
- Use
pipe cleaners, rolled modeling clay, broken-up spaghetti noodles, toothpicks,
or ice-pop sticks to spell out your words and glue on to a piece of
construction paper.
- Write
a mnemonic sentence to help you remember each of your spelling words. Each
letter of the word should start a word in the sentence.
For example, a mnemonic
sentence for the word:
throw
might be: Ted has rented one wheelbarrow
because
might be: Big elephants can always understand small elephants.
