| CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY Anticipated Release July 15, 2005 Johnny Depp will play Willy Wonka in Tim Burton's adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel. Charlie Bucket, a boy from an impoverished family under the shadow of a giant chocolate factory, wins a candy bar contest and is given a tour, along with four other children, of the amazing factory run by the eccentric Willy Wonka and his staff of Oompa-Loompas. This film will aim to be more faithful to the original book than "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" starring Gene Wilder. THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY Status Unknown There is word Johnny Depp has signed on to star in this biographical film reportedly fast-tracked by Universal Pictures. He will portray 'Elle France' editor Jean-Dominique Bauby who, in 1995 at the age of 43, suffered a stroke that paralyzed his entire body except his left eye. Using that eye to blink out his memoir, Bauby eloquently described the aspects of his interior world, from the psychological torment of being trapped inside his body to his imagined stories from lands he'd only visited in his mind. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2 Anticipated Release 2006 Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed a sequel to "The Curse of the Black Pearl", and Johnny has signed to return in his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. According to YahooMovies, production is scheduled to begin in January, 2005, and may be filmed back-to-back with the third installment. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3 Anticipated release 2006 (6 months after Part 2) Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed a third installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series is in the works. According to an interview with Jerry Bruckheimer on 'Entertainment Tonight', he hopes to film the second and third installments together.
